This Easter weekend marks a double celebration as the International Kite Festival soars into its 20th year, and the Pilgrim family comes together for their first-ever family reunion. The event, founded by Calvin Pilgrim, has become a beloved cultural staple, bringing families, communities, and nations together under the vibrant skies of Antigua. This year, the skies were filled with even more meaning.

Ambassador Clarence E. Pilgrim, speaking on behalf of the family, shared:
“Several generations of our family showed up and they came from all across the Caribbean. It was more than a reunion; it was a powerful reminder of the importance of connection and showing up for family.”

The Pilgrim Family Reunion kicked off with a Friday evening meet-and-greet and BBQ, followed by a special church service and brunch, culminating with participation in the International Kite Festival now a cherished part of Easter tradition.

“We are turning Easter weekend into a legacy celebration one kite at a time,” said Winiston Pilgrim. “This festival is not just about kites; it’s about love, unity, and heritage.”

As the festival celebrates two decades of flight, it continues to soar as a beacon of Caribbean pride, creativity, and cultural connection now with the Pilgrim family story woven into its legacy.

    • The point that you are missing is that the family from all over came together to support one of their own, in an event that has become a national activity for the last 20 years! This is a tremendous achievement! NOT ONLY THE FAMILY BUT ALL ANTIGUANS AND BARBUDANS SHOULD BE PROUD OF OUR INTERNATIONAL KITE HERITAGE!

  5. This event should become a national event. It’s usually well attended and it’s something fun for the whole family. Some sort of shuttle arrangements should take place for those without transportation by using the local buses. I guarantee you alot more people would attend
