Firearm and ammunition

A 32-year-old Clare Hall resident has pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition after appearing before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel today.

Neil Guye has been remanded into custody until Wednesday when he will return to court for sentencing.

The charges stem from a police operation conducted early Saturday morning. At approximately 5:00 am on April 26, officers executed a search warrant at Guye’s Clare Hall residence. During the search, authorities discovered one 9mm Colt pistol along with ninety-five rounds of matching ammunition.

Guye was immediately taken into custody following the discovery and was formally charged shortly afterward.

The arrest comes as local law enforcement continues efforts to reduce illegal weapons in the community.

  2. I have a question….do we still have a gun amnesty in place…I just find it “strange” during this said amnesty that citizens are being sought in their homes during this period. I know every Tom, Dick, Harry and Jane are going to come for me….if ya hab one period for amnesty wait until um done and then throw the book at anyone caught with and unlicensed gun. If I had a gun I would not attempt to turn it in as on the way they might pick me up and charge me…or someone will make a call and say ‘me think john doe’ have a gun and it nit license.
Wait until after the gun amneaty period to launch all out was against illegal firearms

    • They are doing the right thing. You have to make example of those who feel like they too bad to carry in a gun. There’s an amnesty and you refuse to take in your gun. Lock them up man
