Ambassador Dwight C.R. Gardiner OBE has been appointed an Honorary Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for Oceanography and the Blue Economy (COBE) at The University of the West Indies, Five Islands Campus.
He currently serves as the Director/Registrar-General of the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping, and is the Permanent Representative of Antigua and Barbuda to key maritime organizations.
With significant expertise in maritime affairs and ocean governance, Ambassador Gardiner will engage with faculty and students on research projects focused on sustainable development in the blue economy.
He holds multiple degrees, including an Associates of Science in Marine Technology and Management, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Technology, a Master of Science in Maritime Safety Administration, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Legal Education Certificate.
In 2024, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the Caribbean Maritime University for his contributions to the maritime industry.
