This is in no way bashing women, but, as a man it is becoming increasingly concerned about the growing popularity of lash extensions among women today. For many women, lash extensions are more than just a beauty trend; it has become a form of self-expression, confidence, and convenience.
In today’s fast-paced world, some women are juggling multiple roles and responsibilities, and some lash extensions may seem like a simple way to wake up looking fresh and put-together without spending extra time on mascara or eye makeup. However, some females with these butterfly wings can hardly keep their eyes open.
Editor, don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with these women pumping up their lashes for some extra brightness on the face or as some would say ‘added beauty’. But some of these lashes are so long you can actually sit on them and scroll through tiktok. Aren’t these lashes heavy on their face?
Apart from it being long, some of these lashes cost like Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars just for installation, according to a friend. Sometimes this makes me wonder if these women don’t have anything better to do with Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars, instead of putting mink lashes.
While beauty routines vary from person to person, what matters most is how they make you feel. Whether it’s lipstick, lash extensions, a fresh hairstyle, or makeup, every woman deserves the freedom to define beauty on her own terms. But some of these lashes are too extreme. It is almost impossible to even look at these women’s faces. What doubles it, is that some of these women are bank tellers, we have to look in their faces. Some of them are selling at fast food franchises.
Some of these women’s eyes become so red, it seems as if these lashes are even irritating their eyes. So editor, I really have some questions for these women. Why do you allow yourself to suffer because of beauty? Does beauty have to be so extreme? Can’t it just be soft and beautiful rather than loud and pathetic?
Everyone seems to be so much into these lashes, you see the young women and the old ones as well, and am wondering, why is everyone so trying to be in the in-thing? Is it necessary?

Here again, another female thing becoming a male issue. How a female with lashes become a problem to you Lincoln? I mean, i don’t do lashes but these people are comfortable with their long lashes like fans or as you say ‘butterfly wings’. That shouldn’t be a problem to you sir
What I don’t see is any beauty in the literal sense, being added to the women who wear these things. It’s just like the nails they wear, they are just fashion trends and as we all know fashion does not fit every body
Its just all fake. And women love the fakery. Rather that go natural they believe that they will. Look better with all that fakery. Its just all delusional.
As a woman of a certain age who believes in being natural and therefore does not wear makeup or false eyelashes extensions or wigs, I think this eyelash thing reflects poor self esteem. One should be confident in their own skin..the skin that the Almighty has blessed you with. Just tale care of it all. All these trends are harmful and in most cases life threatening. Theses lashes, for example, can permanently harm your eyes. There’s been an uptick of cancer in the Caribbean. Could this be related to the uptick in make up and lipstick/ lip gloss wearing among Caribbean women? Have you ever stopped and taken a look at the ingredients in your makeup for example? Do you know that your skin, being your largest organ, absorbs into your bloodstream whatever you put on it? So don’t just jump onto a trend. Instead, do your due diligence because your life (or your eyesight) may just depend on it.
LMAO@ butterfly wings. To each his own. what about those with the butterfly lashes plus the baby hairs greeting each other in their forehead? 😂😂
Two things I wont be caught dead with
So AN is now in the habit of removing comments?
Never had my comment removed but them lashes on dem chick’s need to go. A.N yall brave. I know some of them.girls be thinking the same but afraid to say it to another sister. Hahahah. This one is soooo insensitive but true
As a guy, I have to say, these lash extensions are like the superhero capes for women. I mean, one minute they’re looking all sweet and innocent, and the next, bam! Honestly I was shocked when I went into a restaurant on Heritage Quay and I saw the most beautiful woman from behind. Very cury and thick and plump just like we black men like them. Then of course I said “pppssstttttttt”. She turned around and the first thing that greeted me were these lashes. This girl, im thinking no more that 26, got lashes that could take off in a strong gust of wind. It’s like they’re ready to fly away to a whole new level of glam. I love my Caribbean women but nahhhhhhhhh this is a bit much. RESPECT to this news platform for addressing a matter that many of us men are just thinking and not saying.
Just a trend; it will pass too. Obviously a male counter-part pays at times. My concer is the long term effects from some of the ingredients in the glue. Do some more research and get back to us. Add; weave extensions and some everyday food items while you’re at it. That is if you’re really concern.
