Andre Solomon, a 44-year-old Trinidadian national residing in Antigua, was granted bail this morning after facing multiple drug-related charges in court.
Solomon was released on EC$50,000 cash bail with a deposit of EC$5,000 and two sureties required. As part of his bail conditions, he must sign in three times weekly – twice at St. John’s Police Station on Mondays and Saturdays, and once at the Immigration Department on Wednesdays.
The charges stem from a series of police operations conducted over the past week. On Wednesday, April 30, police executed search warrants at Solomon’s properties located on Pares Main Road and in Parham. The searches yielded 191.9 grams of cannabis, 2 ¼ pounds of cannabis, and 790 cannabis plants.
Following these discoveries, Solomon was charged with unlawful possession of 191.9 grams of cannabis, unlawful possession of 2 ¼ pounds of cannabis, possession of 790 cannabis plants, and unlawful cultivation of 790 cannabis plants.
In a subsequent operation on Wednesday, May 7, police executed another search warrant at Solomon’s residence in Hodges Bay, where they seized an additional 4 ½ pounds of cannabis. He was further charged in connection with that offense.
Police also indicated that Solomon is currently being questioned as a person of interest in several other ongoing investigations.
