Police have arrested and jointly charged two men in connection with a major drug seizure at the Deep Water Harbour earlier this month.
Two men charged in connection with a major cannabis seizure worth $372,000 appeared before Magistrate Dexter Wason this morning.
Nadeem Brandon Doumith of Crosbies was granted bail set at $300,000 with cash set at $20,000 surety. As conditions of his release, Doumith must surrender his passport and report to a police station three times weekly.
His co-accused, Jamaican national Francis Young, was remanded to prison. Young, who has another outstanding matter, Â was denied bail and will remain in custody pending the next court appearance.
Both men face serious drug-related charges stemming from the discovery of 62 pounds of cannabis at the Deep-Water Harbour on May 9.
The charges include possession of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer, importation of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, and conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.
Well Young is obviously a flight risk, but the serian should have been remanded too. He could well have another passport we don’t know about.
Of course the white gets bail and the black gets remanded.
