Residents are urged to remain vigilant as a new wave of home invasion tactics emerges in local neighborhoods.
Residents have reported that a group is going door-to-door, impersonating home affairs officers. These individuals carry official-looking documents and letterheads from the Department of Home Affairs, claiming they are verifying the validity of identity cards for an upcoming census.
Despite their convincing appearance, this initiative has not been authorized by the government, and these impostors are reportedly using this ruse to gain entry and rob unsuspecting homeowners.
Victims have reported that the scammers appear professional and well-presented, making it difficult to identify them as frauds at first glance.
Local law enforcement is advising residents to be cautious and to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
They emphasize that no government agents should be conducting such door-to-door inquiries.
Residents are encouraged to share this information with their neighborhood groups and alert family and friends to the presence of these scammers.
Awareness is the key to keeping communities safe from these deceptive tactics.
Stay safe and always verify the identity of individuals claiming to represent government agencies before allowing them into your home.
We do not have a Home Affairs Office in Antigua.
I think that may be the point…
Noted. However, this so-called scam alert needs to be sounded by the relevant government authorities and by a mere news vendor! Come on AG, Commissioner!!
This does not apply to antigua. We don’t have a ministry of home affairs here. Antigua.news get your act together
I was going to say that. But it just shows how gullible we can be.
