Antigua and Barbuda took center stage during the 2025 edition of the prestigious Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, held in April at the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Consul General of Antigua and Barbuda to the Principality of Monaco Marco Garavaglia organized an exclusive networking event, where a representative lodge from the Consulate welcomed Italian entrepreneurs alongside internationally renowned sportsmen and women.
This gathering created a unique opportunity for both Italian and global excellence to connect.
The event coincided with the tournament, which featured 42 of the world’s top 45 tennis players, including notable names like Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Italian finalist Lorenzo Musetti.
Recognized as one of the most prestigious events in the international tennis circuit, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters attracts thousands of spectators and fans each year.
This occasion strengthened ties between business and sports, promoting Antigua and Barbuda’s image on the international stage while showcasing the potential benefits of high-profile events such as the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
Throughout the matches and dinners organized by Consul Garavaglia, he engaged in fruitful discussions with his guests, notably exploring the Citizenship by Investment Program, which sparked significant interest.
Known for his dedication to advancing tourism and economic growth in Antigua and Barbuda, Consul Garavaglia underscored the importance of fostering synergies between sporting events and entrepreneurship in the future.
He highlighted successful initiatives like those seen during the Rolex Masters and the Monaco Yacht Show, stating that “sporting events are an excellent vehicle for diplomacy.”
So which Antiguan sports personality was present? *Raising eyebrows
Great job, Consul Garavaglia ❤️
Nice initiative, congrats
This is an excellent initiative to get more investment into our country.
What was that really all about I don’t see anyone in the stands
Ah who he? Ah who dem? Did I see reference to even one Antugua and Barbuda national n this article.🥺🥺
Hard to find Antiguans in Monaco except during the Boat Show or other similar events. But being there and representing Antigua and Barbuda I think is important to attract foreign investors. If we don’t market abroad what hope do we have of attracting wealthy people willing to spend in our country?
