The Prime Minister’s Office Chief of Staff, Lionel Hurst, is said to be recovering well at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after being hospitalized earlier this week.
Director of General Communications and Press Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Maurice Merchant, gave the update.
“As you are aware, Ambassador Hurst is in hospital at the moment…from all reports, he’s doing very well. The nurses are smiling, so that means he is getting to his 100% tip-top shape,” Merchant said.
After experiencing fainting spells on Tuesday, Hurst was taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a lung infection and possibly pneumonia.
In a statement to Antigua.News, Hurst mentioned that he is feeling 99% better and is doing well, although he is still being kept for observation.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out and inquired about his health.
Hurst has served this country well…Now is time for him to sit back and enjoy his millions. Rest hurst.
I agree I think he should use that opportunity for early retirement. Seems like Morris has already stepped into the role of Chief of Staff in waiting lol
Yeah Hurst take a break man. Retire and go end enjoy your children!
I am always happy when someone of age recovers from such illnesses. More life to you Hurst. No other diplomat like you in this land
