Minister Charles Fernandez Hosts Exclusive Tourism Leaders’ Dinner at Jumby Bay

In a celebration of regional collaboration and success, Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, Charles Fernandez, hosted an exclusive dinner at the luxurious Jumby Bay Island during the 43rd Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) 2025.

The intimate gathering brought together influential tourism ministers from across the Caribbean and prominent industry stakeholders to honor the successful hosting of the premier tourism trade show.

Attending the event were Tourism Ministers from Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Anguilla, as well as notable figures such as Mr. Sanovnik Destang, President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), and Ms. Vanessa Ledesma, CEO of CHTA.

The dinner provided a platform for discussions on enhancing regional cooperation in tourism.

Minister Fernandez expressed gratitude towards his fellow ministers and industry leaders for their support of Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism offerings.

He emphasized the significance of unity among Caribbean nations to face global challenges and champion innovative approaches in the sector.

The evening’s entertainment featured mesmerizing performances by two young Antiguan talents: celebrated saxophonist Lael Farrell and award-winning pannist Maurissa Potter, who infused the event with the island’s rich musical heritage.

In a notable gesture, Minister Fernandez presented Mr. Destang with a beautifully crafted mahogany boat replica adorned with sails reflecting the national flag of Antigua and Barbuda. The boat symbolized both heritage and the strong partnership within the tourism sector.

In his remarks, President Destang commended Minister Fernandez for the invitation and praised Antigua and Barbuda for setting a new standard in regional tourism hosting.

This exclusive dinner not only marked the achievement of CTM 2025 but also reinforced Antigua and Barbuda’s reputation as a leader in Caribbean tourism, innovation, and hospitality.
