As the date approaches, excitement is mounting in Antigua and Barbuda for the 9th Annual Run in Paradise, scheduled for this Sunday, May 25, 2025.
The popular road race has drawn an enthusiastic mix of seasoned athletes, casual runners, and health enthusiasts from all over Antigua and Barbuda, the wider Caribbean, North America, and Europe, all eager to join in what has become a celebrated event known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant atmosphere.
Recognized as a premier destination race, Run in Paradise combines athletic challenge with breathtaking views.
Participants can choose from three main events: the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K. Runners will start from various locations across the island, converging for a picturesque finish at Fort James Beach. The course features minimal elevation, making it accessible for both experienced runners and newcomers alike.
The Half Marathon kicks off at the Sugar Factory at 5:00 a.m., taking runners along Antigua’s northeastern coast before heading west to the finish line. The 10K and 5K races will start at Ocean Point Hotel and Royal Palms Plaza, respectively, culminating at Fort James Beach. All finishers will receive a medal, along with refreshments and a refreshing dip in the tranquil Caribbean Sea.
Each year, Run in Paradise surpasses expectations thanks to the strong collaboration between organizers, the local community, and a dedicated group of sponsors.
This year’s event is proudly supported by FLOW, Guardian Group (OECS), GWM, Island Provision Group, Siboney Beach Club, Clean Food ‘n Jooce, Cool and Smooth, and Signs and Impressions, among others.

Spotters in clearly marked shirts will be stationed along the route to assist with first aid if necessary, and medical personnel will be on-site at key locations to ensure the safety and well-being of all runners.
The course will remain open for four hours to accommodate both competitive runners and walkers so that everyone can complete their race and earn their finisher’s medals.
Organizers remind participants to pick up their race packages during scheduled times: Friday at Royal Palm Place on Friars Hill Road and Saturday at the YASCO Sports Complex.
Shuttle buses will be available for 10K participants, departing from Royal Palms to their start locations at 4:45 a.m. After the races, transport will be provided from Fort James back to Royal Palms and Charlie’s Gas Station.
