ACB Caribbean has issued a critical warning to its customers regarding a rise in fraudulent SMS messages targeting account holders.
The bank has received numerous reports of deceptive texts claiming that customers’ accounts have been placed on hold and urging them to click on a suspicious link (e.g., acbonline.digital) to regain access.
This alarming trend is classified as a “smishing” scam — a form of phishing that occurs via SMS — which poses a significant threat to users’ personal and financial information.
In a statement released customers, ACB Caribbean emphasized the importance of vigilance, stating, “DO NOT click the link or enter any personal or banking information.” The organization reassured customers that they would never send login links through unsolicited text messages or request sensitive information via SMS.
To protect themselves, customers are advised to always verify communications through the bank’s official channels, including secure messaging within the ACB Smart App or by calling their customer service line directly.
For those who may have already interacted with these fraudulent messages, ACB Caribbean urges immediate action: “If you’ve received such a message, please delete it immediately. If you’ve already clicked the link or provided any information, contact us immediately.”
The bank remains committed to customer security and is actively monitoring the situation to prevent further incidents. They are reminding customers to stay aware and cautious about any unsolicited messages they might receive.
I am elated that you have put us on notice because I received an email from ACB that I found every strange over the weekend. I am no fool so I ignored it. But many people I am sure fall prey to this level of scaming.
I bank at ecab but scammers are everywhere. Stay focused people
I know they couldn’t catch me with that one. Usually when I see email from my bank I hardly ever open them
Yeah these phishing scams are getting out if this world!
