Government Announces Job Openings for Road Rehabilitation in Public Works Department

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced significant developments within the Public Works Department as it intensifies its road rehabilitation efforts nationwide.

Speaking on Pointe FM on Saturday, he revealed plans for the department to hire additional employees and encouraged interested individuals to submit their applications.

In his capacity as Finance Minister, Browne outlined that the Public Works Department will also be seeking more engineers to bolster its ongoing roadworks initiatives.

This increase in personnel aims to facilitate an expansive programme designed to improve the country’s infrastructure.

To expedite these repairs, night crews have recently been deployed to various locations, including Herbert’s Road and Newgate Street.

These actions are part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality and safety of the roads ahead of a major rehabilitation project.

This comprehensive roadworks programme will be funded by a loan of XCD $100 million from local banks. To support this initiative, the government has also increased vehicle licensing fees, which will be used to amortize the loan.

Citizens are encouraged to stay informed about the application process and participate in this opportunity to contribute to the nation’s development.
