Antigua’s cruise industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, with officials reporting 410 ship visits this season while construction crews race to complete a transformative new terminal facility by November.
At Monday’s Cruise Connect forum held at the Treasury Building, Antigua Cruise Port executives outlined ambitious plans to capture greater economic benefits from the island’s booming cruise trade, which peaked at 98 ship calls in January alone.
The gathering brought together key stakeholders including Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez, tourism officials, law enforcement, and immigration personnel to address priorities for the upcoming 2025-2026 cruise season.
Meanwhile, the sister island of Barbuda is poised for dramatic growth in cruise visits, with calls expected to exceed last season’s total of roughly 18 booked visits.
Tourism construction is booming in Antigua, and I love it. The sad thing is that there is a lack of building materials for homeowners to complete their house
Pastor Daniel is absolutely right we need better facilities if we want to compete on the world stage. Government, take note
This is great news for our tourism sector. The issue I have is that some of our local vendors are still struggling to sell a keyring. Mr minister what can be done to help them?
Wow that is excellent news. Our tourism sector is really booming. Well done to the GB Administration
