Cable Removal Project Scheduled in St. John’s City

The APUA Telecoms Business Unit has announced plans for a cable removal project that will impact St. John’s City, focusing on the area from Newgate Street to Vivian Richards Street. This crucial undertaking is scheduled to take place over three consecutive weekends, starting Saturday, June 7, and concluding Sunday, June 22, 2025.

Work will be conducted on both Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, utilizing heavy-duty vehicles to effectively carry out the project. To accommodate these operations and prioritize public safety, certain streets within the city will be temporarily closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The APUA extends its apologies for any inconvenience this project may cause and appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this important infrastructure improvement effort. Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan their travels accordingly.
