FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED DURING POLICE OPERATION

Firearm and ammunition

The police have seized an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an early morning operation at Bendals.

Around 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, a joint team of police officers executed a search warrant on a property occupied by a Trinindadian and Vincentian national.

During the operation, the officers discovered one chrome revolver, several rounds of matching ammunition, and multiple items of camouflage clothing. The items were seized as part of an ongoing investigation.

Both individuals were arrested on suspicion of Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Ammunition and were taken into custody.

The police are again appealing to the public to report any suspicious activity and share information related to illegal firearms by contacting the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477)

  3. Them darn foreigners again!!! Antigua and Barbuda has more than it can handle with its own home-grown criminal scum. We don’t need the even worse outsiders! St. Vincent is currently in serious problems with increasing shootings and murders and a proliferate possession of guns and ammunition. We don’t need any of their kind here! The same can be said out- of-control gun crimes in Trinidad and Jamaica. Why are these people allowed sanctuary here??? Mr.PM?? The Immigration Department?????

  6. What if it could be a case where these cops would have sold the guns to these individuals and just happen to know where they are and who has them! These this discoveries are too often. We could find the guns but plk disappearing without a trace.
