St. John’s, Antigua. June 16, 2025 — As part of the annual CIBC Caribbean Walk for the Cure campaign, the inaugural Gala for the Cure was held last weekend at the Galley Bay Resort, with resounding success. The event welcomed 86 guests for an unforgettable evening of philanthropy and celebration in support of cancer awareness and research.

The evening began with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and a silent auction featuring a stunning art piece by renowned artist Marc Xavier. The event was overwhelmingly supported and has now been confirmed as an annual addition to the Walk for the Cure fundraising calendar.

Walk Managers Natasha Charles, Khadijah James, Jesseca Ormand, Corporate Manager Priscilla Leonce, and Country Head Ladesa James-Williams expressed their delight with the outcome and the community’s generous support.

Special thanks go to the team at Galley Bay Resort for graciously hosting the event, as well as to Sharon Green and A.S. Bryden for their unwavering support. Appreciation is also extended to Pink Mongoose for the exquisite table centerpieces and Wimbiprint for the beautifully designed signage and printed materials.

Originally conceptualized in 2024, Gala for the Cure was postponed due to timing constraints. However, in 2025, the initiative was revived and executed within just one month—an extraordinary achievement that resulted in an exceptional evening and successful fundraiser.

CIBC Caribbean is proud to continue its commitment to the fight against cancer and looks forward to growing the Gala for the Cure in the years to come.

The next fundraising event will be Jam for the Cure T-Shirt Mas on Saturday 26th July. Registration is now open at the bank on Old Parham Road.

The 14th Annual CIBC Caribbean Walk for the Cure Will be held on 11th October2025.

  2. So the attendees for gala for cure were handpicked while all the other events were opened to the public? Asking cause I’ve never heard about the gala

  3. A gala for the cure? Sounds like a much fancier way to fight cancer than just walking, though I suppose we need both! It’s awesome that the inaugural event at Galley Bay was such a hit. Every new fundraising idea that brings in more support for cancer awareness and research is a win in my book. Keep up the great work, CIBC!
