St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Sunday, 22 June 2025

The police have recovered several vehicles suspected to have been stolen, along with a quantity of cannabis plants, during a recent operation in the Freetown area.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, a team of police officers conducted a search operation at Freetown and discovered eight (8) vehicles of various makes and models hidden in a bushy area. Several of the vehicles were completely stripped of their parts. The police also seized a quantity of cannabis plants found growing in the area. 

The vehicles, along with the controlled substance were transported to Police Headquarters as part of an ongoing investigation.

The police are urging anyone with information that may assist in the investigations to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

The Royal Police Force remains committed to reducing criminal activity and ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors.

  1. There are many other vehicles that have bot yet been recovered. We waiting. Get the vehicles. Not the herb. We have issues with police hustling people down for plants. But the stolen cars, the guys. The ammunition…yes we are supporting you. Go get them! Oh and the murderers too.

    • What you’re driving to tell me? Cause this doesn’t make any sense, how can a person drive around with false license plate? So another person don’t know their license plate? If you say, they are changing their license plate to do robbery then that I can understand

  5. Hats off to the police for doing an excellent job. Like another person has already stated..leave the plants. Get the criminals, return the vehicles that weren’t stripped to their rightful owners, and make the criminals pay restitution for the damage they have done.

  7. Weed and stolen vehicles? Hmmm. I guess the same guys from the shoot out are apart of this! So how many people vehicle has been taken for spare parts or to make a little money
