A firestorm of controversy has erupted after CitizenGO, a well-known anti-gay organization, was granted permission to launch an advertising campaign at the V.C. Bird International Airport timed to coincide with the arrival of delegates for the Organization of American States (OAS) General Assembly in Antigua this week.

The campaign, which features both digital and printed ads throughout the airport’s arrivals area, has drawn sharp condemnation from local and international observers.

CitizenGO has a global reputation for pushing anti-LGBTQ+ narratives, and critics say the group’s messaging runs counter to the OAS’s core principles of equality and inclusion.

Many are calling the campaign a national disgrace and questioning how it was approved in the first place. Human rights advocates warn that the ads could seriously damage Antigua and Barbuda’s international standing, especially at a moment when the country is under the global spotlight for hosting a major human rights-focused summit.

  3. Why are these people concerning themselves with what consenting adults do or don’t do in the privacy of their own homes.
Why not do something constructive, maybe go help repair all saints road, volunteer in the hospital or help in a home for orphaned children.

  4. Antigua and Barbuda has made significant strides in decriminalizing same-sex relations and implementing anti-discrimination laws. This external campaign seems out of step with the progress our nation has already made.

  7. Love not judge is my mantra. Who the hell’s business is it what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their space? BLATANT HYPOCRISY is why there’s been a great falling away from the church. Our job is to love one another not judge one another. And the same chicken shit hypocrites are in the closets secretly jealous of those who are bold enough to live their truth. Others are adulterous, others pedophiles, others wife beaters others thieves.I can go on and on. …There’s no big sin or little sin –sin is sin ;but we must not be judge, jury, and executioner because truth be told everyone of us is struggling with something; so stop trying to act like you are perfect or that you are better than somebody else simply because of who two consenting adults love. JUDGE NOT LEST YOU ALSO BE JUDGED!!!

  9. Hmm, everyone is entitled to their opinion including the group posting the signs. However, the bigger question is WHY are they posting the signs now? Is there an agenda item in the upcoming OAS meetings to push LGBTQetc. priorities on everyone else? Whilst I would not have much to say about what some persons choose to do in private, when they start to try to push society to cater to their more unnatural lifestyles that does become a problem. The media should perhaps inquire further with the activists about why they are protesting now…

  11. Gay people believe that they have too much rights in a persons place. I have no issues with that. How can a country be blessed when all they are doing in things that can bring about curses.

    • I will always go by biblical principals…would you have sex with your brother or sister ? no because it’s biblically wrong so why do you want to do it with your kind?
