The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) is proud to announce the newly appointed Board of Directors for the 2025–2027 term. Craig Marshall, Regional Commercial Director – West Indies at Blue Diamond Resorts, has been reappointed to serve a second term as Chairman of the Association, leading a new and dynamic slate of Directors.

With this new term, the ABHTA has unveiled its forward-looking theme: “Investing in People, Powering the Future.”

This direction signals the Association’s commitment to workforce development and industry transformation, with a sharpened focus on upskilling the current labour force and ensuring that Antiguans and Barbudans are equipped and empowered to excel at the highest levels of tourism and hospitality.

“In this new chapter, we are taking decisive steps to invest more intentionally in our people,” said Chairman Craig Marshall.

“We are prioritizing training, leadership development, and the creation of meaningful opportunities for advancement in our industry. This includes confronting long-standing challenges such as absenteeism in the workplace and putting mental health and employee wellness at the heart of our strategic agenda.”

Chairman Marshall also noted the Association’s support for the call to action made by the Honourable Charles ‘Max’ Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, who emphasized the importance of preparing the tourism workforce for the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“We fully support the Minister’s call to ensure that our employees are retooled to thrive in this evolving digital age,” said Marshall.
