A 25-year-old man from Yorks, Malique Challenger, has been sentenced for possessing a dangerous firearm, a Brown .45 Remington pistol, originally used in World War II, along with seven rounds of ammunition.

On June 21, 2025, police executed a search warrant at Challenger’s residence, where they uncovered the weapon and ammunition in the kitchen.

Challenger confessed to owning the pistol, which was noted by the court for its potential danger.

Among the seven rounds, three were hollow-point, designed to inflict severe injuries. As a result, Challenger received a sentence of three years and eight months in HM Prison for the firearm possession, with an additional year for the ammunition charge, both to be served concurrently.
