School Uniform Grant Program launches today

For several weeks, parents will be to take advantage of the annual School Uniform Grant Programme in preparation for the new academic year in September.

The School Uniform Grant Program is an initiative of the Ministry of Education which supplies school-aged children with at least one uniform for the upcoming school year.

It is now in its 20th year.

The program was launched today and will run until August 29 at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre.

From Mondays to Fridays, it will operate from 9 am to 3:30pm while on Fridays from 9am to 2pm.

The eligibility requirements remain unchanged. To be eligible, children must be 5 years old by 31st December, 2025 and will remain in the database until completion of the 4th Form.

When visiting the Multi-Purpose Centre, returning beneficiaries must present the student’s most recent school report and a form of identification (government issued), while an acceptance letter from the school or 3rd term report along with valid identification for the student and parent/guardian must be presented to representatives of the SUGP.

Last year, almost 20,000 vouchers were printed for uniform collection.

  3. I have questions. How many uniforms per student? are there selected places or can we get these from our seamstress? News with not much information does not make sense. And is time we know exactly what we are facing. And I hope we are getting enough uniforms given the rise in prices on everything

  5. The ache of my heart every year is to see a Syrian or a Lebanese man receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from the government for the program. What about the local symstresses. How can they capitalize on this? Wasn’t there some association before that that did these uniforms? An association comprising local men and women. What happened to them?

  6. Great initiative, but when will we see more local tailors benefiting? Outsourcing uniforms means missed income for skilled workers right here at home.
