The man fatally shot in Dominica yesterday has been identified as Jean-yves Bruno. Bruno is the son of renowned journalist and author Alex Bruno.

Reports indicate that Bruno was struck by a stray bullet during a shooting that appears to have been aimed at another individual, Curtison Charles, who also sustained injuries.

Haitian national Maclet Dorceli was also shot by a stray bullet. Noth Dorceli and Charles remain hospitalized.

The incident occurred near the Bath Estate Bridge, where Bruno, Charles, and another man, Maclet Dorceli, were waiting on the roadside to board a bus for work.

Bruno was hit multiple times, suffering injuries to his left side, including his chest, thigh, and arm. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at 8:40 AM by Dr. Rena Alcendor.

Charles, who was also caught in the crossfire, suffered a gunshot wound to his left calf, while Dorceli, a Haitian national working on a nearby hotel development, received a bullet wound to his left elbow.

Authorities are actively investigating the shooting, seeking to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic event.

    • Wow. I know Alex Bruno. Tragic loss. Stray bullet? You mean the shots weren’t meant for him? He was on his way to work and just like that? And the one the shot was meant for isn’t dead? So someone can lose their life by just hoping a bus in Dominica to go to work to make a living for their family? Is this what we have come to?
