Travis Peters Charged with Murder; Expected to Appear in Court Today

Travis Peters has been charged with the murder of Javaughn Joseph

Jahvaughn Joseph of Jennings

Travis Peters is expected to make his first appearance in court sometime today after being arrested and charged with murder. The 31-year-old of Bendals allegedly killed Jahvaughn Joseph of Jennings.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Redcliffe Street at approximately 3 a.m. on December 16, 2024. It is alleged that Peters shot Joseph while he was standing in the area. Joseph sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was later pronounced dead at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

But Peters is not new to prison. Last December, he was charged with stealing 17 air-conditioning units from the Agriculture Ministry on the Queen Elizabeth Highway.

Further police investigations led to Peters’ arrest and subsequent charge for the offence.

The public is encouraged to share any information that may assist in ongoing investigations by contacting the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

  2. Now the deceased family can try and rest assured. I mean, you going to jail cannot bring back their son but they receive justice

  3. Stealing 17 air conditioning units would take a few hours to load into a vehicle. I believe all government properties are well secured fay and night. Where were the security guards?
