A Chinese national was injured today after being struck by stray bullets during an alleged crossfire incident in the capital city. Fortunately, the man’s injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. Witnesses described the chaotic scene as a volley of gunfire erupted nearby, leaving bystanders shaken.
According to local reports, the victim was simply a passerby when he was struck. He, along with another man who was shot in the buttocks during a separate incident this morning, is currently receiving treatment at the China Friendship Hospital.
Authorities are investigating both incidents in an effort to ascertain the circumstances that led to the gunfire and ensure the safety of residents in the area. Community leaders are urging anyone with information to come forward, as concerns around gun violence continue to grow within the community.
Earlier this week, Jean Ives Bruno, the son of well-known journalist and author Alex Bruno, was shot and killed on his way to work by a stray bullet.
Two additional men were also injured in the incident, and the assailants are still on the run.
