As the countdown to the greatest summer festival continues, this weekend several pre-events are scheduled to bring that carnival vibe.
On Thursday, the Calypso Monarch semifinals is set to take centre stage at Carnival City (Antigua Recreation Grounds).
Starting at 8pm, 18 calypsonians will vie for one of the spots in the finals on the grand stage on August 1.
Queen Thalia, Willie Wawa, Tian Winter, Lyrical Reds, Dr Solo, De Santcher, Singing Althea, Sammie C, LyricksMan, Ge’Eve, Destroyer Sr, Richie Francis, Kid Fresh, King Zacari, De Sniper, Queen Gee Bee, Empress and Raiine will all take to the stage with their renditions.
Admission is $20.
