Four Antiguans to Participate in Second Edition of Regional Soca Competition

The second edition of KariSoca, a Caribbean Soca Monarch competition, will feature four local talents going head-to-head with others from the region.

Following last year’s inaugural event, which saw Dominica’s Wayne “Mr Benji” Benjamin crowned as the first-ever KariSoca champion, this year’s competition promises to be even bigger with 11 talented competitors from across the Caribbean region.

The competition will feature four representatives from Antigua, including Antigua Soca Monarch 2024 Empress, alongside Bless Eye, Zamoni, and reigning Antigua Soca Monarch King Young Vice. Seven additional competitors will represent other Caribbean nations including Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad, Montserrat, St Kitts, Dominica, and the US Virgin Islands.

The event will showcase eight guest artists, headlined by Trinidad’s GBM Nutron and Barbados’ Edwin Yearwood. Local favorites Tizzy, Claudette, Menace, and Venom X will also perform, along with a special surprise guest appearance.

KariSoca will take place on July 29th at Carnival City ARG.
