
Professor C. Justin Robinson, Principal of the UWI Five Islands Campus
Professor C. Justin Robinson, the Principal of the UWI Five Islands Campus, leads an esteemed local judging panel tasked with selecting Antigua and Barbuda’s Unsung Hero.
He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Manchester, UK, along with an MSc in Finance and Econometrics from Florida International University, and a First Class Honours BSc in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in Barbados.
With over two decades of leadership experience at UWI, Professor Robinson has played a pivotal role in molding the academic landscape.
His past positions include Head of the Department of Management Studies, Executive Director of the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business & Management, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, pro vice chancellor of the Board for Undergraduate Studies, Pro Vice Chancellor of Academic/Industry Partnerships, and currently Principal of the UWI Five Islands Campus.
Joining him on the judging panel is Jamilla Kirwan, a well-regarded media and communications specialist, actress, and empowerment coach who has over twenty years of experience in shaping local narratives and mentoring talent.

The third member of the panel is the esteemed Valerie Gonsalves-Barreiro, a dedicated community activist. She made history as the first female president of the Lions Club of Antigua and is currently serving as the first female Sexton of the Cathedral of St. John Divine.

The revamped CIBC Caribbean Unsung Heroes campaign was launched on May 30, 2025, and invites nominations from individuals aged 10 and over. The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2025.
National winners will be announced in August, with regional winners revealed in September..
