St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Friday, 18 July 2025

The police have arrested and charged 36-year-old Hezekiah Parker Jr of Wireless Road in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Redcliffe Street in December 2024.

The incident, which took place on the morning of Monday, 16 December 2024, involved a 29-year-old male resident of Parham who was reportedly standing along Redcliffe Street. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his neck and was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he received emergency medical treatment.

Following further police investgations, Parker was arrested and taken into custody and subsequently charged with Shooting with Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm, Possession of Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

He is expected to make an appearance before the court sometime next week.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda remains resolute in its commitment to combatting gun violence and bringing those responsible for such acts to justice. Members of the public are encouraged to continue cooperating with the police by reporting any suspicious activities or providing information that may assist ongoing investigations.

  4. No doubt recruited as a silent drive-by assassin by his criminal organization,! A pre-christmas society destabilizer. He needs to be effectively interrogated to get the full story of these indiscriminate, collateral damage, murderous acts being perpetrated against innocent residents. I’m surprised that he was not charged with attempted murder. Anybody who shoots another in the neck intends to kill the victim.
