The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission wishes to advise the public that the Carnival Parade was brought to an early close today due to an unexpected electrical issue that posed a potential safety hazard along the route.

The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission wishes to advise the public that the Carnival Parade was brought to an early close today due to an unexpected electrical issue that posed a potential safety hazard along the route.

In the interest of public safety, the Commission made the decision to suspend the remainder of the parade in accordance with our commitment to ensuring the well-being of all patrons, participants, and service providers.

The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission wishes to advise the public that the Carnival Parade was brought to an early close today due to an unexpected electrical issue that posed a potential safety hazard along the route.

This precautionary measure was taken in consultation with the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) and Law Enforcement officials.

We understand the disappointment this may cause, but safety remains our top priority. The Commission extends its sincere gratitude to all masqueraders, bands, vendors, and spectators for their understanding and cooperation.

  1. I heard someone was electrocuted. I am not sure how true that is but I don’t see the need for carnival anymore. We have lost the true meaning behind it. All i see is danger, bottom in the road and wastage. I hope my people change their minds about Carnival. It is just not worth it anymore
