A man from Five Islands is currently nursing gunshot wounds following a shooting incident at the West Bus Station last night. He is 32 years old and his injuries are not said to be life threatening.

As gun related violence has been on the rise in Antigua and Barbuda, the government, in collaboration with the local law enforcement, have implemented several initiatives in an attempt to rid the streets of illegal firearms.

The sentence for gun related violence has increased and police have confiscated a number of illegal guns so far to date.

  3. This is deeply disturbing news. To hear of a shooting at a public, busy place like the West Bus Station is incredibly alarming and a stark reminder of the violence plaguing our communities. My thoughts are with the victim.
