Prior to the official start of the 2025 Carnival Celebrations, the Police Administration announced a island-wide Security Strategic Plan with emphasis on a ” No Weapon” policy. Members of the public are warned that possession of firearms or any sharp or blunt objects, including knives, machetes, cleavers, scissors, pieces of iron, or wood, is strictly prohibited.

Anyone found in possession of these items will be arrested.

The police further wish to reassure members of the public, particularly bus and taxi operators and commuters using the West Bus Station Terminal, that heightened security measures are being implemented at the location to ensure their continued safety.

The Police Administration is again appealing to the public to act responsibly and maturely throughout the remainder of the Carnival season.

Adherence to the safety advisories and full cooperation with law enforcement are vital to ensuring a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.
