Barbara Joseph, the Quality Manager for SLBMC’s Laboratory Services, has just concluded her participation in the Caribbean Public Health Laboratory Network (CaribPHLN) Regional Meeting in Guyana from July 24 to 26.

The event gathered public health leaders from throughout the Caribbean region to address pressing health concerns.

The workshop focused on critical areas, including the enhancement of laboratory networks, the improvement of outbreak response mechanisms, the development of strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and the facilitation of safer sample transport practices.

Through this training, participants aimed to sharpen their skills and foster regional collaboration.

The focus on capacity building ensures that health leaders can detect health threats more quickly, respond more effectively, and ultimately deliver safer, more reliable care to patients across the Caribbean.
