Police report tragic drowning of Chinese national at Pelican Beach in Johnson’s Point

The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic drowning of a 47-year-old Chinese national at Pelican Beach in Johnson’s Point.

At approximately 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, officers from the Johnson’s Point Police Station responded to a report and discovered the deceased lying on his back on the sand. He was dressed in burgundy shorts and a white shirt and was identified as a resident of Lower All Saints Road.

According to reports, the man was at the beach with friends when he went snorkeling. He soon encountered difficulties and signaled for assistance, prompting his companions to rescue him from the water. Emergency Medical Personnel arrived on the scene and administered CPR, but unfortunately, he remained unresponsive.

The District Medical Doctor pronounced him dead at 6:13 p.m.

The Police Administration has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
