Motorists and sanitation workers can soon expect a smoother, safer journey to the Cooks Sanitary Landfill as the Ministry of Works has begun critical concrete roadworks leading to the facility.
The previously deteriorating roadway, often criticized for its potholes and uneven surface, has posed daily challenges for waste haulers and government vehicles.
The current upgrade project aims to eliminate these hazards through a more durable and sustainable concrete surface, built to withstand the high volume of heavy-duty traffic.
The initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader push to enhance key public service infrastructure.

How long will this last though
Concrete access to the landfill is definitely an upgrade. My main hope is for proper construction that can withstand heavy traffic and our weather, ensuring long-term durability. We can’t afford frequent repairs on this vital route.
