Nine-year-old Eva Magloire AKA “Ava” and 12-year-old Jontae Francis AKA “Lyrical Boss”

The stage was on fire and the crowd was electric as young talents lit up Carnival City during the 2025 Oasis Water Junior Party Monarch Competition.

Nine-year-old Eva Magloire, known by her stage name “Ava,” and 12-year-old Jontae Francis, who goes by the name “Lyrical Boss,” stole the show, capturing the Groovy and Jumpy crowns.

Ava captured the Groovy title with her empowering anthem “Safe Zone,” which also earned her Best Performer, Best New Artist, and Most Improved.  Her dynamic stage presence and vocal control belied her age, as she outperformed former champion Empress Buchanan (“Jai’lilah”), who took 2nd runner-up with her song “Act Like You Blind,” and Jacquena Tapping (“Nova”), who was named 1st runner-up with “Bialando.”

Nova returned to the stage with “Carry On,” earning her the 2nd runner-up spot, while Xayden Cabey (“Xayden”) charged into 1st runner-up position with his powerful performance of “Charge Up.”

The competition showcased a new generation of calypsonians with lyrical wit, stage confidence, and infectious rhythm. The future of Antiguan and Barbudan music looks brighter than ever.
