A serious fire broke out in the early morning on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from local fire services.

Inspector Lester Bagot, the Public Relations Officer of the Fire Department, says that at approximately 8:23 AM, St John’s Fire Station received an alarming call regarding a house engulfed in flames.

“Firefighters quickly deployed two fire tenders to the scene. Upon arrival, crews encountered a two-story concrete structure engulfed in fire, with thick smoke visibly pouring from both the roof and windows,” he said.

According to Bagot, firefighters worked diligently to control and extinguish the blaze using water from the fire tenders. Despite their efforts, the top story of the building sustained extensive damage, while the ground floor suffered significant smoke damage. The structure, measuring 38 by 45 feet, now faces a long road to recovery.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the local fire brigade, as authorities seek to determine how this devastating incident occurred.

  1. Is there a Bathlodge in St. John’s? Two identical reports about a fire, I’m two different locations. Public mischief of just plain dunceness or both.
