The Strategic Office of Communication reports that police are investigating a shooting on McDonald Street in Ottos that occurred early on August 1, 2025.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., a 54-year-old man from Ottos was approached by two masked men while walking home. One suspect wore a dark blue shirt and jeans, while the other had a white T-shirt and jeans, both described as 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall.

Allegedly, the assailants confronted the Ottos resident for money, leading to a struggle. One attacker fired a weapon, injuring the man, before they fled on foot north along Independence Drive.

Police transported the victim to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The police say they are “appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).”
