Elderly Woman Found Dead in Cassada Gardens Home

Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman whose body was discovered inside her home in Cassada Gardens on Thursday.

The woman, believed to be in her late 60s, was last seen alive on Wednesday, August 13. Neighbours became concerned after noticing that her outside lights were on and her windows were open, but there was no activity inside the house.

A neighbour first checked on her around 9 p.m. Wednesday but received no response. The following morning, concerns grew when the house appeared unchanged.

Around mid-morning on August 14, a neighbour who regularly conducts welfare checks entered the residence and discovered the woman’s body lying between the living and dining areas.

Emergency Medical Services and police were called to the scene. A district doctor pronounced the woman dead, and the body was removed to a local funeral home.

Police say foul play is not suspected, but an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
