Antigua and Barbuda’s 18-member Under-14 girls’ football squad has departed for Trinidad and Tobago to compete in the 2025 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-14 Girls Challenge Series, which runs from August 15 to 25.
The team, accompanied by a full coaching and support staff, will contest Tier II Group C alongside the Cayman Islands, Anguilla, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Guyana. Their opening match is against Anguilla on Friday, followed by fixtures against Guyana on Saturday, the Cayman Islands on Monday, and Turks and Caicos on Tuesday. Matches will be staged at the Ato Boldon, Hasely Crawford, and Larry Gomes stadiums, with live coverage on the CFU’s YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, in cricket, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have confirmed Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim as captain and local star Rahkeem Cornwall as vice-captain for the upcoming Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season. Wasim, who is entering his second year with the franchise, boasts over 400 T20 matches and 130 international appearances. “This is a proud moment for me,” he said. “We have some exceptional players, and we’ll be playing to win.”

These girls and the Falcons are representing us well. Consistency and leadership will be key for both squads.
Big respect to the U-14 girls! Tough group, but they have the talent to make Antigua proud.
Congratulations Cornwall. Let’s show them what we are made of
cheering them on from back home and wishing them the very best of luck in Trinidad!
