Applications are now being accepted for the UK Government’s Chevening Scholarships, offering fully funded opportunities to pursue master’s degrees at top universities in the United Kingdom. The application period runs from 5 August to 7 October 2025.
The Chevening programme, established more than 40 years ago, has built a reputation for nurturing future leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership, networking skills, and a clear vision for positive change in their home countries and globally.
Emma Hennessey, Head of the Scholarships Unit at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), said the programme remains highly competitive and impactful.
“Chevening Alumni use their world-class education, global networks, and confidence gained in the UK to create meaningful, lasting change when they return home, whether by tackling global challenges or making a tangible impact in their own communities,” she said.
Antigua and Barbuda’s Dr. David Francis is among those recently named to the 2025 cohort of Chevening awardees. He will pursue an MSc in Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology at University College London, with plans to strengthen regional public health systems through improved outbreak detection, evidence-based policymaking, and preparation for future antimicrobial threats.
Since its inception in 1983, the Chevening programme has supported more than 60,000 professionals worldwide, underlining the UK’s commitment to investing in the next generation of global leaders.
Interested candidates are encouraged to prepare strong, evidence-based applications and apply online at chevening.org/apply. Guidance and eligibility details are available at chevening.org/guidance.
