Police are investigating a home invasion that left a 52-year-old man injured in the early hours of Friday morning on lower All Saints Road, near the Craft Market.

The attack occurred around 2:15 a.m., when the intruder reportedly broke into the man’s residence while he was asleep.

According to reports, the homeowner awoke to find the suspect rummaging through his belongings and demanding money. When the man said he had none, the situation turned violent.

The assailant allegedly struck the victim twice in the face with a metal object before fleeing the scene. Emergency personnel provided treatment at the home before transporting the man to hospital. He required several stitches for his injuries but remains in stable condition.

Police officers conducted a search of the area and interviewed residents, but no arrests have been made. The suspect is still at large.

Authorities are appealing to members of the public with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Department.

  2. If the law is not sufficiently clear, it MUST be changed, as a man, MUST be able to defend his home and property. We can only urge home owners to install cctv and survellence equiptment, as by the time the police arrive its too late.

  6. This is so infuriating. Protecting one’s self and one’s property is a right that my husband and I believe in and stand by and he love his cutlass real bad! Prayers for that gentleman who was hurt.

  9. Is anyone safe? These people are targeting older residents who seem helpless. May they be protected by God. Who is safe in this place? Can people live in peace?
