Cedar Valley Road Closure as APUA Installs New Water Mains

Motorists in Cedar Valley are being advised to expect disruptions this week as the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) carries out major waterline installation works near Wild Orchard Drive.

The project, which is expected to last about one week, will require a temporary road closure in the area. Drivers are being asked to use alternative routes until the works are completed.

According to the APUA Water Business Unit, the installation is part of ongoing efforts to connect communities to the new 2-million-gallon-per-day Reverse Osmosis Plant at Shell Beach. The new mains are expected to improve water delivery and provide a more reliable supply to residents along the northern corridor.

APUA has apologized for the inconvenience and is calling for the public’s patience as crews complete what officials describe as “critical upgrades” to the island’s water network.

  1. APUA should put up clear detour signs and maybe even post daily updates so drivers know what to expect.

  2. Another road closure? They should’ve given people more notice. Traffic in that area is already rough.

  3. I’m seeing this message too late. One week is a lot of time to inconvenience residents

  4. Good to see APUA investing in the water network. Hopefully this also means better pressure and fewer disruptions across the area.
