Fernandez Leads 11th Annual Back-to-School Donation Drive

For the 11th consecutive year, Charles ‘Max’ Fernandez, Member of Parliament for St. John’s Rural North, has spearheaded his annual back-to-school donation initiative, providing vital support to families preparing for the new academic year.

Over the past weekend and continuing throughout the week, MP Fernandez and his team distributed approximately 700 school bags filled with essential supplies to children and parents across the constituency.

Packages included school bags, lunch kits, calculators, geometry sets, flash drives, writing materials, and other items designed to ensure students are well-equipped for academic success.

A member of the constituency team emphasized the initiative’s impact:
“Supplying essential school items not only relieves financial stress for families, but also directly impacts how well-prepared students are to succeed in their curriculum.”

Reflecting on the programme’s longevity, MP Fernandez remarked:
“For over a decade, we have watched our children grow and excel academically, from preschool and kindergarten to primary and secondary school, and now even college. Distributing these supplies year after year has given my team and me front-row seats to their educational journey. That tells a special story of our community’s commitment.”

The St. John’s Rural North team underlines that providing students with the necessary tools is more than an act of generosity; it is an investment in the future.

Studies show that well-equipped students perform better academically, develop stronger self-esteem, and gain the confidence to reach their full potential.

By empowering today’s learners, the initiative aims to build tomorrow’s leaders and reduce barriers that hinder opportunities, underscoring the community’s commitment to nurturing its youth.
