Parents encouraged to take part in Styled for Success event

The new school year is approaching fast, and one educator is gearing up to ensure, the nation’s youth look good for the new academic year.

Delron Frederick and friends will be hosting the ‘Styled for Success’ event, a give back initiative for Primary School students where hair cuts and hair braiding will be offered free of charge.

Well, one thing we have to make certain that kids normally operate on the way that they look. So, if they look good, then more than likely, they feel good. So, one of the things that drives them is that you want them to look the best heading back into September the first term of the new school year. So, we were aiming to make sure that they look good, feel good. So, we expect the best from them,” Frederick said.

The event will take place on September 7 at the Clare Hall Secondary School Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

So, with that, the auditorium is a very spacious place and we’re having like what we would call influencers, persons that they look up to in the community coming. We also have some sponsors who would be creating and sharing some food and drinks to, but of course, we’re still encouraging more food and drink, but they would be there so that while they are getting their hair done, they would have something to eat. Just got a call 2 days ago that even a bounce castle would be there. Somebody donated bounce castle and popcorn.

So, we’re just encouraging all the kids to come, all the parents to bring their kids of course because they can’t come on their own. They come and you know, we’ll get them sorted. So, it’s like a fun salon. If you want to put it like that because of course, we have barbers too,” Frederick added.

Parents are advised to ensure their children’s hair is freshly washed and free from any products.
