Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night at the site of the former Bruce’s Night Club in Hatton.

A 42-year-old man, who lives in one of the apartments, was shot around 8:50 p.m. by an unidentified assailant. He was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where doctors treated a gunshot wound to his right hand. Hospital officials confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and police are appealing to the public for information.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has details that could assist the investigation is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as officers work to identify and apprehend the shooter.
