A major initiative is on the cards where all schools both primary and secondary and public and private will receive a cadre of sports uniforms through the School Sports Uniform Initiative.
Expected to launch in late January, early February of next year, the program in collaboration with the local private company, Cool and Smooth will present free of charge sports uniforms for the various sporting disciplines that the specific school participates in.
Cool and Smooth is a business which is no stranger to supporting sports in Antigua and Barbuda, having sponsored various school and national events, tours, and equipment.
These uniforms will feature the school colours and will be designed with input from the principals. They will also be replaced every two years and sponsorship for this initiative will last for 10 years.
Commission of Sports Dr Colin Greene made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon during the first ever School Sports Collaboration Meeting at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
