The Human Resource Professionals of Antigua and Barbuda (HRPAB) has elected a new executive body to lead the organization for the next two years, reaffirming its commitment to advancing people management and strengthening the role of HR in national development.

The executive team for the 2025–2027 term includes Dr. Miguelle Christopher as President, Ms. Rhonda Grant as 1st Vice President, Ms. Allison Anthony as 2nd Vice President, Ms. Alecia Cherubin as Secretary, Ms. Shari Cannegieter as Treasurer, and Ms. Jhaveline Patrick as Assistant Secretary/Treasurer. Outgoing President Mrs. Wendy Jackson-DeSouza will serve as Immediate Past President.

Operating under the motto “Advancing the HR Profession for National Development,” the Association has pledged to continue raising professional standards, building leadership capacity, and providing greater support to its members.

In her first statement as President, Dr. Miguelle Christopher thanked members for their confidence and laid out the vision for the new executive. “This new executive is eager to build on the work of our predecessors. We will focus on strengthening HRPAB internally and ensure that we are truly meeting the professional needs of our members. We will continue to elevate the HR profession by providing learning and networking opportunities, partnering with key local stakeholders, collaborating with our regional counterparts, and striving to have the HR perspective included in major national level decisions.

The Association is also extending an invitation to HR professionals and students of HR management to join the body, which provides access to training, networking, and opportunities to influence policy.

  3. If HRPAB can strengthen professional standards, it will raise the bar for businesses and employees alike. This is good for the economy in the long run.
