The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has strongly condemned an airstrike carried out by Israel in Doha, Qatar, on 9 September 2025. The operation was confirmed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as being initiated and executed by Israel.
In an official statement, the government described the strike as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in contravention of the United Nations Charter.
Antigua and Barbuda expressed full solidarity with Qatar and echoed United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ characterization of the airstrike as a “flagrant violation” of Qatari sovereignty.
The government called for an immediate halt to any further escalation, strict compliance with international law, and a return to credible diplomacy aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and securing the release of all hostages.
“Such violations of international law must not continue with impunity,” the statement emphasized. Antigua and Barbuda also expressed support for urgent consideration of the incident by the United Nations Security Council.

Violation of sovereignty is no small matter. Today it’s Qatar, tomorrow it could be anyone.
Netanyahu admitted it. That alone should trigger sanctions. Why the double standards?
We dont have to comment on everything these nations do
Oh boy. Sighhhhh. We call for peace
For decades, Israel has lived under the shadow of hostile groups and states that openly call for its destruction. If intelligence indicated that dangerous elements were operating in Qatar with the potential to strike Israel, then it was Israel’s duty to act swiftly and decisively.
Didn’t expect Antigua to comment on this so fast
While many governments have been quick to condemn Israel’s action, it is important to recognize Israel’s right to defend itself against threats to its national security. Prime Minister Netanyahu has been clear that the operation in Doha was a targeted strike, not an attack on the Qatari people.
