Tragedy struck on Saturday night when 18-year-old Sean Kadim John, a Dominican national and student of the Washington Archibald High School, was shot and killed in the College Housing area in St Kitts and Nevis.

Police in St Kitts confirmed the fatal shooting in an official statement issued on Sunday morning, noting that investigators have since launched a full probe into the incident.

His family is from Gutter Village in Rosea, Dominica. His mother reportedly came home to find him in a pool of blood. Reports are that he received a single bullet to the head.

“The Police are investigating a shooting homicide that occurred last night in College Housing involving an 18-year-old student of Washington Archibald High School. The investigation is active and ongoing. Further details will be provided in an official release,” the statement said.

Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting or identified any suspects.
